The ensamble functioned more than 20 years under the name of OHIS and the leadership of Organic-chemical Industry in Skopje. In 1998, after the change in the social life this organization was registered as new ensemble formed on non-government base.
Leaders of the ensemble are Rade Jakimovski and Zlate Bonevski, main artistic leader and manager Gligor - Gile Vasilev, former artistic leader and choreographer of the Government Ensemble "Tanets", Skopje, Macedonia.

Gligor-Gile Vasilev is the man who founded the ensemble OHIS and he is its main artistic leader in the last years. Actually, together with his colleagues Jakimovski and Bonevski they manage the ensemble "Aleksander Makedonski", Skopje.
The ensemble has performed 2000 concerts all over the world - Europe, Australia, America. It consists of approximately 150 people, divided in two parts: children's ensemble and representative group. Leader of the orchestra is Zoran Stoikovski, author of the costumes is Kiro Naumov.
